Some songs are stand-outs such as “DDT,” a buoyant exaltation to the herbicide by the charismatic Carson-foe Julius Hyman (outstanding ROBERTO ARAUJO)

Araujo is high energy and hysterical but occasionally dangerous and sinister, two qualities that fans of the book often find lacking in the stage version's characterization of Thenardier. It's also quite refreshing to see someone in the role who can sing the role rather than a comedian who can somewhat carry a tune.

Roberto Araujo, as muse Thalia and other characters, proves to be the epitome of tenacity, giving an all-out, nothing-held-back performance despite the dislocated elbow he suffered during rehearsals. His Gene Kelly-esqe tap solo in Act I is a highlight of the show.

"I met Roberto in 1996. We were cast as Catherine de Medicis and Henry III in the Mexican production of the pop opera Anjou. Since the moment I met him I knew we were going to be friends forever and I knew he was going to be a star. His passion, his commitment, his outstanding talent and his charm have been a key to his success.

Every time I see him doing what he loves to do, either singing, dancing, acting, taking photos...he surprises me. He knows, more than anyone I know, how to open his heart on stage and connect with his audience. That is a gift that not a lot of people have.

This spring we did a photoshoot together, I admire his work as a photographer but working with him was one of the best experiences of my life. I have never had pictures like the ones he took, he captured my soul in every shot and that is not an easy task.

Be prepared and don't miss any step of his wonderful career because the best is yet to come and I am proud to witness it and feel part of it as a friend who loves and admires him."

"A singer can be as good as the voice he has, but in Roberto's case the voice is one of his many skillful talents. He has the ability to capture the audience, and take them through a complete journey in all of his shows. An accomplished performer in every sense that will touch and connect emotionally with you.

His magnificent voice is only surpassed by the great showmanship and a stage presence that only a seasoned singer has accomplished. His talents keep improving as he has ventured into producing and staging his own show, Spanglish, a heartfelt, upbeat and uplifting interpretation that leaves the audience wanting for more every time.

Roberto Araujo is a talent to be watched for, for only great things can come from such a great man."
